A new interactive discovery microsite tool for users exploring HID OMNIKEY, increasing lead engagement.

HID Global is an American manufacturer of secure identity products. They requested a digital tool where customers in various industries can explore more about OMNIKEY, a single chip security integration system that can be embedded into anything requiring access control.

I had an idea to use 3D renders and create an interactive smart city digital environment within a microsite—designed to showcase the versatility of the system through multiple use cases. The smart city has multiple hot spots on buildings for the user to enter and further explore their chosen industry. Users are able to explore a smart city, drill down to specific buildings and applications, and build a wish list to select and build a package for their OMNIKEY applications.

Our work included delivering an elevated product experience for the website as well as enhancing the visual identity through motion design, 3D design, and custom illustration.


Making the user experience more tailored, with relevant visuals and content specific for the customers needs. Each building would display as a cross-section which would be fully interactive, highlighting the multiple use cases that the customer may be interested in. 

Key Responsibilities

Concept Creation & Vision

I created the overarching “Big Idea” to capture the audience's interest and inspire them to explore OMNIKEY product applications. Mockups were produced to share the vision, align with stakeholders and drive decision-making.

Design Execution & Validation

We tested our designs by observing and interviewing users through usability testing, we iterated the designs and validated effective elements that improved UX.

Choose your OMNIKEY

We were tasked to convey HID's OMNIKEY application offerings to multiple different audiences —  Universities, Offices, and Hospitals. After we completed our research on the target audiences, we tailored a distinct narrative and content structure to resonate with both segments.

 

To showcase the benefits of OMNIKEY, the visual identity highlighted the technology embedded in multiple urban settings presented with animation to captivate users.

Constructing the city
To achieve the best first impression, the landing page design clearly communicates the focus of the site by leveraging motion and interactivity to structure the content in a meaningful way. This allows the user to discover all of the information they need with ease. We created a captivating brand story to showcase the essence of the product. We accomplished this by skillfully depicting the product in real-life situations, leveraging 3D render visualisation.
